[00:00:02] Hello everybody and welcome back to another episode of Outcomes Rocket.
[00:00:06] I'm so excited to be here at Hymns 2024 with two outstanding guests.
[00:00:12] I want to welcome back Dr. Nechi Moshe,
[00:00:14] Senior Vice President of Growth at Clarify Health,
[00:00:18] as well as his colleague John Barzidlo,
[00:00:21] Vice President of Customer Success at Clarify,
[00:00:23] to a special edition of Outcomes Rocket at Hymns 2024.
[00:00:28] First off, I want to say congratulations to both of you
[00:00:31] and the Clarify Health Organization
[00:00:34] for winning the best in class,
[00:00:36] for healthcare analytics repairs,
[00:00:38] a big accomplishment.
[00:00:40] And what does that mean for Clarify Health?
[00:00:42] We'll start with you, John.
[00:00:43] Yeah, so it's a massive accomplishment.
[00:00:46] Testimony to our customers more so than anything else.
[00:00:48] We work with them on a regular basis to try to drive
[00:00:51] improvements in quality, reduction in cost.
[00:00:54] And we feel like we're making headway there
[00:00:55] and it's nice to be recognized in you.
[00:00:57] And so our entire mission is focused on trying to improve
[00:00:59] the healthcare ecosystem.
[00:01:01] So anything that we can do to get there is fantastic.
[00:01:03] And the fact that our customers are seeing the value
[00:01:06] from our platform, from our analytics
[00:01:08] is really a reinvigorating in the industry, right?
[00:01:11] Healthcare costs keep going up,
[00:01:12] prices are more expensive for everyone.
[00:01:14] The fact that we're making a little bit of a dent in that,
[00:01:16] we're hoping that healthcare ecosystem improved is massive
[00:01:19] and we couldn't do that without our customers,
[00:01:21] but it's a huge award and we're really excited.
[00:01:23] Congratulations, it's a big deal.
[00:01:25] Yeah, no it's really exciting to hear it
[00:01:26] from a third party too.
[00:01:28] It's one thing to speak to our customers
[00:01:30] and hear from them firsthand.
[00:01:31] It's another thing for us to spend all day talking
[00:01:34] with our product teams and our customer teams
[00:01:37] around how we can improve.
[00:01:38] But to get a third party to have that level of recognition
[00:01:41] for us is really amazing.
[00:01:42] And yes the award was for the payer solutions
[00:01:45] in particular but it's the same common platform
[00:01:47] across everything that we do at Clarify.
[00:01:49] So it's really a recognition of just the entire tool
[00:01:51] that's been built in the platform we built.
[00:01:53] So we're excited.
[00:01:54] Yeah, well congratulations.
[00:01:55] And by the way folks, for anybody curious
[00:01:58] about the platform, we'll link it up in the show notes
[00:02:00] to make sure you can take advantage of the platform
[00:02:03] for your organization.
[00:02:04] The other news is that Clarify has a new claims data
[00:02:08] partner giving you all one of the largest claims datasets
[00:02:11] in the country.
[00:02:12] Netshi how did this come about?
[00:02:14] Yeah so we for the past six, seven years
[00:02:16] have been building what we wanted to be
[00:02:19] the largest healthcare dataset.
[00:02:20] And we finally can say that out loud
[00:02:22] which is amazing now that we've brought on this new partner
[00:02:25] and this new partner brings in additional sources
[00:02:27] that we've not historically had.
[00:02:29] And now we can leverage all of that information
[00:02:31] to provide the best insights to feed into the platform
[00:02:34] that John was talking about
[00:02:35] that classes just provided us the recognition against.
[00:02:38] But we can start to uncover new areas
[00:02:40] where we can enable providers
[00:02:41] or where we can assess provider performance
[00:02:43] in ways that we're able to just stitch together
[00:02:45] this longer longitudinal journey
[00:02:47] against care that's being done.
[00:02:48] That's really the crux of it for us
[00:02:50] is how do we get as much information
[00:02:52] so that we can stitch together the longest journey
[00:02:54] and provide insights based on that?
[00:02:55] Well, definitely lots of insights,
[00:02:57] lots of news with you guys,
[00:02:59] especially at this conference.
[00:03:00] And so how will you leverage this claims data assets?
[00:03:04] Like it's a big deal.
[00:03:06] How do you plan on leveraging it?
[00:03:07] In a variety of different ways.
[00:03:08] So first and foremost as Netshi mentioned
[00:03:10] it will stitch together our patient journey logic.
[00:03:12] So our ability to understand what a patient
[00:03:15] is going through throughout their entire healthcare journey
[00:03:17] from diagnosis through treatment.
[00:03:20] We'll have a better understanding of that
[00:03:21] so we can better treat that patient,
[00:03:22] work with clinicians and provide better care.
[00:03:24] Secondly it'll allow us to understand
[00:03:27] the market dynamics a lot better.
[00:03:28] We're gonna have much more signal on the given market
[00:03:31] which will allow for us to pinpoint
[00:03:32] the specific opportunities for a hospital or a home land
[00:03:35] to drive performance improvement on their side as well.
[00:03:37] So there's a myriad of applications
[00:03:39] that we're gonna drive it towards
[00:03:40] but it's really focused first and foremost
[00:03:41] on the patient, improving their care.
[00:03:43] And then secondly the market dynamics
[00:03:45] and how we can help organizations
[00:03:47] increase their footprint throughout their market
[00:03:49] or their given area of focus.
[00:03:50] Thank you for that.
[00:03:51] No, it's exactly what John said
[00:03:53] and I think we can start to also talk about
[00:03:55] who else in the ecosystem can we start working with now?
[00:03:58] And we've always historically worked
[00:04:00] with health systems and health plans
[00:04:02] but we like to start working with more
[00:04:04] and more digital health companies
[00:04:05] that are out here at HIMS
[00:04:06] and we can start to inform
[00:04:07] how they're thinking about things.
[00:04:09] We can also talk to benefit consultants
[00:04:11] who work with employers really closely.
[00:04:13] So we're really excited for the year
[00:04:14] that we've got ahead of us
[00:04:15] so that we can start to unlock
[00:04:17] more and more of the healthcare ecosystem.
[00:04:18] How do we supply them with the information they need
[00:04:20] to succeed and to do their best jobs?
[00:04:22] Well, definitely exciting.
[00:04:24] And how will this impact current
[00:04:26] and prospective customers?
[00:04:28] That's John's world.
[00:04:29] Yeah.
[00:04:30] More coverage is better for everyone, right?
[00:04:32] It gives them more signal into their given market.
[00:04:34] So if we think about existing customers
[00:04:36] you will now have access
[00:04:37] to much more data than you had historically.
[00:04:39] You were already a leading organization
[00:04:42] in the space of data collection
[00:04:43] and being able to allume data insights through that.
[00:04:45] Now it's just even more pronounced.
[00:04:47] So existing customers will have much more data
[00:04:49] for fingertips that they can leverage
[00:04:51] for whatever their use cases are.
[00:04:53] And prospective customers now have insight into areas
[00:04:55] that they otherwise wouldn't from other organizations.
[00:04:57] So whether it is that longitudinal journey
[00:05:00] and you mentioned through a patient's insight
[00:05:02] or it's focused on just signaling to a given market
[00:05:04] we now have that more in spades than we did in the past.
[00:05:07] So it's more data, it's more analytics
[00:05:09] of their fingertips
[00:05:10] and hopefully more insights that they can drive
[00:05:11] towards whatever their goals are
[00:05:13] cost reduction, patient improvement.
[00:05:15] The other thing that really helps
[00:05:16] on the prospective customer side
[00:05:18] is oftentimes folks will come to us
[00:05:20] and clarify might be a new name to them candidly.
[00:05:22] They've not spent time with us before
[00:05:24] they've not heard from our other customers
[00:05:26] providing that class recognition
[00:05:28] and also the reality that we're
[00:05:30] the biggest data set in the industry
[00:05:31] both of those things together really help
[00:05:33] actually we were speaking together
[00:05:35] John and I were speaking to a prospective customer
[00:05:37] and they were saying it was really helpful
[00:05:38] for their internal discussions to know
[00:05:40] that oh, Clarify has been ranked by class
[00:05:42] as number one that helps bounds
[00:05:44] for them to justify internally Clarify's the best
[00:05:47] and that's what we've always wanted to be
[00:05:49] and we're extremely excited to be here.
[00:05:51] That's exciting.
[00:05:51] Thank you guys so much
[00:05:52] and folks a lot to be proud of
[00:05:54] at this time at Clarify Health.
[00:05:57] Look, there's a lot going on
[00:05:58] with the no surprises act price transparency
[00:06:01] and from what I understand
[00:06:03] there's something big developing in July of this year.
[00:06:06] Do you guys wanna tell us a little bit more about that
[00:06:08] and what our listeners and viewers should keep in mind?
[00:06:11] Sure, so for everyone
[00:06:12] that's obviously aware of this data
[00:06:14] we've been plagued by inaccuracies
[00:06:17] or incomplete data within the market, right?
[00:06:19] Whether it's hospitals or health plans
[00:06:21] we struggle to get the most accurate information
[00:06:23] across the board which has impacted folks' ability
[00:06:25] to use that data to drive meaningful insights
[00:06:28] as it relates to contractual negotiations.
[00:06:30] So on the 1st of July we're going to be rolling out
[00:06:32] CMS is gonna be rolling out more standardized templates
[00:06:35] for how you can be populating your price transparency
[00:06:37] information from a hospital angle.
[00:06:39] And we're really hoping
[00:06:40] and we started to see this already with some files
[00:06:43] the standardization will be better data quality
[00:06:45] which will allow for us to make use of the data
[00:06:47] in a different and kind way
[00:06:48] than we've been able to in the past.
[00:06:50] So as of 1-1 some organizations have already started
[00:06:53] to comply and you can start to see in their files
[00:06:55] or fitting the structure that we wanna see
[00:06:57] which is fantastic
[00:06:58] and the data quality has already started to jump
[00:07:00] but at the end of the day
[00:07:01] we wanna make sure that an organization
[00:07:03] can compare themselves to their competitors
[00:07:05] understand where there's opportunity
[00:07:07] and really drive better rates for their hospitals
[00:07:09] or the inverse from health plan perspective as well.
[00:07:12] If we can reduce the variability
[00:07:14] in how folks are posting the information
[00:07:16] it just makes it so much easier
[00:07:17] for you to read it on the other side
[00:07:19] get quick access to that date.
[00:07:21] So we're excited about being able to pull this data
[00:07:23] so much more quickly
[00:07:24] and get it to our customers as quickly as possible
[00:07:26] in the most standardized format.
[00:07:28] One of the other things that's cool
[00:07:29] is that we actually have some prospective customers
[00:07:31] now reaching out to us to say,
[00:07:32] hey, Clarify, can you help us with posting the data?
[00:07:34] And we're starting to have more and more
[00:07:35] of those conversations.
[00:07:37] So lots coming, we're excited for the year ahead
[00:07:39] and we'll see where things go.
[00:07:41] Very exciting.
[00:07:42] Thank you both.
[00:07:43] And for everybody listening and viewing today
[00:07:45] these are real issues that you're grappling with.
[00:07:48] You don't have to deal with them alone.
[00:07:49] So make sure you check out the show notes
[00:07:51] for best ways to get in touch
[00:07:53] and find out more about how you can make the most
[00:07:55] out of Clarify Health solutions.
[00:07:57] Thank you guys for being with us today.
[00:07:59] Thank you so much.
[00:08:00] Yeah, thanks all.
